Alexandria Spinning and Weaving Company (Spinalex) was established in 1947 as one of the leading spinning
companies in Egypt. It was subject to nationalization laws in 1961 and became a subsidiary of the Egyptian
General Spinning and Weaving Organization until it became a subsidiary of the Textile Manufacturing and Trading
Company (S.A.E.) on December 26, 1992, pursuant to Law No. 203 of 1991 and its executive regulations. As part of
the government's program to expand the ownership base of public business sector companies, the holding company
sold its entire stake in the capital.
The company's status was regularized in accordance with Law No. 159 of 1981 and its executive regulations, as
amended, pursuant to the resolutions of the company's extraordinary general assembly of shareholders held on
March 5, 1998.
Ministerial Resolution No. 491 of 1999 was issued approving the merger of the Egyptian Company for Yarn
Preparation, Dyeing and Trading (S.A.E.) into the company as of July 31, 1998 (the merger date). The
re-evaluation of the company’s assets and liabilities and the merger of the aforementioned company into it were
recorded in the company’s books.
Available Yarns: Terminated, combed, compact, single, double, and knitting yarns. We specialize in producing ZZ+SS twisted voile yarns. We also gas and recycle yarns on SSM machines on cardboard, dyeing, and cylindrical yarns.

Export: ~$14M annually to all European countries, the United States, Canada, Arab countries and the Far East.
